Maryland Veteran Homeowner Guidance

Maryland's exemption for veterans the VA rates 100% permanent and total works differently from its neighbors — there is no September 1 filing deadline, and taxes already paid may be refundable. This page points you to our full Maryland guide, names the office that handles the application, and links the related benefit guidance most Maryland veterans need alongside it.

Where filing happens

Applications go to your local county assessment office — the county where the property sits — through the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT). No September 1 deadline applies to this exemption.
